DONATE! HELP US FUND WWPH’S FUTURE

Dear WWPH Community,

We had a big year. We celebrated our 50th anniversary. We celebrated Pride and the diverse voices of our writing community with our first-ever pocket-sized mini-anthology, Capital Queer: A Washington Writers’ Publishing House PRIDE Celebration. We published AMERICA’S FUTURE: poetry & prose in response to tomorrow, featuring 164 writers over 526 pages. Now it’s time to look to that future. You can be a part of elevating the voices of the writers who will shape it. Your Washington Writers’ Publishing House has been a 501c3 non-profit cooperative (all-volunteer) organization since our inception in 1975.

With our year-end campaign, we aim to raise the resources necessary to continue our work uplifting local authors from DC, Maryland, and Virginia, our community events, and WWPH Fellowships (paid internships) program.

Help uplift the voices of the future…The first 30 donations of $75 or more will receive a set of hand-crafted poetry broadsides. These sets include six frameable hand-pressed broadsides (12 x 9 works on quality paper) in a matching folder, the perfect gift for any literature lover. Each set includes poetry by Grace Cavalieri, E. Ethelbert Miller, Carolyn Forché, Holly Karapetkova, Sid Gold, and Eric Julian Baker, original designs by Suzanne Feldman, and was created on 1930s letterpresses at the Frederick Book Arts Center in Maryland by volunteers from your WWPH! Make your donation by December 5, and we will personally mail the letterpress sets in time for the holiday season. Donate here via our secure PayPal site.

See below for images of our hand-crafted letterpress sets. Plus, our wonderful WWPH Fellow, Anhai Roantree, created this short video to celebrate their production.

If you are not interested in a set of poetry broadsides, no worries! Simply donate to WWPH by selecting the option to support our WWPH Fellowship program, providing paid virtual internships to a 2026 class of undergraduates and graduates from the DMV. We won’t send you a limited edition set of poetry broadsides, but we will send you our gratitude for supporting your Washington Writers’ Publishing House and its future. Donate here via our secure PayPal site.

If you would rather donate via check,
please make it out to ‘Washington Writers’ Publishing House,’ and send to our treasurer: Len Kruger/WWPH Treasurer at 3883 Connecticut Avenue NW #709/Washington, DC 20008

As the longest, continuously operating cooperative nonprofit literary press in the United States, we play an important role in uplifting the voices who grapple with our past and write how we move forward. Your gift helps us write our future.

All good things to you and yours in this holiday season,

Caroline Bock & Jona Colson
co-presidents
