Join us! The Washington Writers’ Publishing House, Mason Exhibitions, and the Alan Cheuse International Writers Center George Mason University on Friday, November 15, 6-8pm at Mason Exhibitions in Arlington for the Virginia book launch of two authors, Megan Doney’s Unarmed: An American Educator’s Memoir, winner of the 2024 Nonfiction Award from the Washington Writers’ Publishing House, and poet Amanda Newell’s Postmortem Say.
This event is in collaboration with Faces and Figures: Identity Through Printmaking Between South Africa and DC. The exhibition’s themes respond to violence, reconciliation, and the spirit of Ubuntu (I am because we are).
(FYI, I just visited this exhibit, and it’s outstanding—and meaningful—art.) The evening will be meaningful, literary, and worthwhile as well:

In conjunction with the MoCo Underground reading series at the Sandy Spring Museum in Sandy Spring, Maryland, join us for an evening of poetry and prose in a special night focused on love! LOVE CONTINUES, hosted by WWPH co-president Caroline Bock, and features members of the Washington Writers’ Publishing House community, including Kathleen Wheaton, Elizabeth Bruce, Bernardine “Dine” Watson, Len Kruger, and Melanie Hatter. FEBRUARY 24 from 4-6 pm at SOLID STATE BOOKS in WASHINGTON, DC — THE WWPH LITERARY SALON
Join our co-presidents Caroline Bock and Jona Colson along with D.C.-based writers Bernardine “Dine” Watson and Len Kruger and poets Regie Cabico and Susan Scheid for the first-ever WWPH Literary Salon made possible with a grant from the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities! More details forthcoming — however, the salon will include a free creative writing workshop at 4 pm followed by a reading by our writers at 5 pm and an open mic hosted by Caroline & Jona.
